Announced in May 2024, the project reunited the pair best known for The Simple Life—but it was not announced as a reboot of that series.
What is Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie’s new show called?
The May 2024 teaser was not the final title. E! reported that Peacock had confirmed a new reality series featuring Hilton and Richie, with teaser wording that included “New Era” and “Same Besties. Coming soon to Peacock.” E!’s May 13, 2024 report did not yet give the project’s format or final name.
By August 2024, Marie Claire reported the title Paris & Nicole: The Encore: a three-part special about the friends trying to turn “Sanasa,” their long-running in-joke, into an opera. The report said it would premiere on Peacock on December 12, 2024. Marie Claire’s report supplies the later title and format.
Is it a reboot of The Simple Life?
No reboot was announced in the cited coverage. Hilton and Richie’s reunion draws on their The Simple Life history, but the reported premise and format are different: the original followed the friends through jobs and other situations, while The Encore was described as a three-part project centered on making an opera.

Entertainment Tonight described The Simple Life as running for five seasons from 2003 to 2007. In June 2024, Hilton told the outlet, “We are starting production soon. It’s going to be iconic.” Entertainment Tonight’s June 2024 report covered Hilton’s comment and the pair’s earlier series.
Where can you watch Paris & Nicole: The Encore?
Peacock was the announced platform, and Marie Claire reported a December 12, 2024 release. Those reports do not establish whether the special is currently in Peacock’s catalog, which territories carry it, or what subscription terms apply. Check Peacock’s current listings for your region before planning to watch.
