Taylor Swift’s 13-day countdown marked the stretch from SiriusXM’s April 7, 2024 launch of Channel 13 (Taylor’s Version) to the April 19 release of The Tortured Poets Department. Both dates, and the channel’s limited run, were announced by SiriusXM on April 2, 2024; the countdown is a historical moment, not a current promotion.
What the 13 days referred to
SiriusXM announced that its dedicated Taylor Swift channel would begin broadcasting Sunday, April 7, 2024—13 days before the album’s Friday, April 19 release. Its announcement described the interval between the channel launch and album release, giving the countdown a concrete promotional context. SiriusXM’s April 2 announcement confirms the dates.

Contemporaneous reports attributed the wording “13 days until THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT” to a Taylor Swift Instagram Story. Because the Story was ephemeral and no surviving official copy is available here, that exact wording should be understood as reported at the time, rather than independently verified from an archived post.
What Channel 13 (Taylor’s Version) offered
SiriusXM promoted Channel 13 (Taylor’s Version) as a 24/7 channel spanning Swift’s career and musical genres. The company said it would play the full new album continuously throughout its release weekend. The limited engagement ran from April 7 through Monday, May 6, 2024, and was available to SiriusXM subscribers in their cars and through the SiriusXM app. It has since ended.
