Saphron told PerthNow that she spent two days filming in Sydney, worked closely with Black and did not meet Wahlberg, who was not there during her shoot.
What role does Orla Saphron play in Play Dirty?
Saphron’s credited role is College Kid, described in PerthNow’s September 7, 2024 interview as a college student. She filmed for two days on the Sydney set. Wahlberg was not present during that period, so the two did not meet.
For Saphron, the standout part of the experience was working one-on-one with director Shane Black. She told PerthNow: “Getting to work with Shane Black one-on-one was honestly one of the biggest highlights of my career so far because he’s an icon.”
She also praised Black’s collaborative approach, saying he listened to actors and trusted them. Saphron called that especially meaningful on her first US film.

What is Play Dirty about?
Play Dirty is a heist thriller directed by Shane Black. Mark Wahlberg plays Parker, who teams up with Grofield, played by LaKeith Stanfield, and Zen, played by Rosa Salazar, for a major score that brings the crew into conflict with the New York mob. The cast also includes Keegan-Michael Key, Chukwudi Iwuji, Nat Wolff, Thomas Jane and Tony Shalhoub.
Amazon says the film draws on Donald E. Westlake’s Parker novels, published under the name Richard Stark. Its official film article does not identify a single novel as the direct adaptation, so it is more accurate to describe the film as based on the Parker series than to name a specific book.

Who is Perth actor Orla Saphron?
In the 2024 PerthNow interview, Saphron was described as a Mt Lawley Senior High School alumna who studied at the National Institute of Dramatic Art. The article noted her Australian screen credits included North Shore, The Claremont Murders and Lies With Us. These are career details reported at the time of that interview, not a complete or current biography.
Saphron told PerthNow she grew up doing Taekwondo and loved action films. She said she hoped to play a strong, independent woman, citing Angelina Jolie in Mr & Mrs Smith and Scarlett Johansson in Lucy as examples of the kind of role she aspired to.

Where can you watch Play Dirty?
Amazon’s article, published September 15, 2025 and updated October 2, 2025, says Play Dirty is streaming on Prime Video and that customers may also rent or buy titles through the Prime Video Store. That is the status reported on Amazon’s US-facing page on that date; availability and rental or purchase terms can vary by country and change over time.
The film is listed as a 2025 release and runs about 128 minutes. Classification details differ by listing and territory, so check the local rating before watching with younger viewers.
