#1 Best Overall
KINDS OF BROS
CRYPTO, FINANCE, PHARMA, and TECH form the “kinds of bros” group, linking the words to industries and fields associated with those labels.
COMPLAINT HOMOPHONES
This is the sound-based set: GROWN sounds like “groan,” MOWN like “moan,” WHALE like “wail,” and WINE like “whine.” Each spoken word resembles a term for a complaint or lament.
What was in the puzzle grid?
The 16 words were WHALE, COCKTAIL, FINANCE, QUESTION, STATEMENT, SOLUTION, GROWN, WINE, TECH, COMMAND, COMPOUND, CRYPTO, MOWN, PHARMA, EXCLAMATION, and MIXTURE. Connections asks players to sort a 16-word grid into four sets of four. Forbes reports that four incorrect guesses end the round.
The clearest semantic matches are sentence types and concoctions. The industry labels require recognizing the “kinds of bros” framing, while the final set depends on hearing the complaint words behind the homophones.
