What happened to Nicholas Pryor?
The Los Angeles Times reported on October 9, 2024, that Pryor died two days earlier, on October 7, in Wilmington, North Carolina. His agent, Susan Tolar Walters, confirmed his death to the newspaper, which reported cancer as the cause.
The Television Academy’s performer record gives Pryor’s birth date as January 28, 1935, and his birthplace as Baltimore, Maryland. It also records his passing on October 7, 2024.
How was Nicholas Pryor connected to General Hospital?
Victor Collins on Port Charles
Pryor played Victor Collins on Port Charles, the daytime drama that spun off from General Hospital. The series ran from 1997 to 2002 during Pryor’s starring tenure, the Los Angeles Times reported. The Television Academy lists him in more than 340 episodes; the Times described his appearance in nearly 350. Neither source establishes an exact episode total.

His General Hospital appearance
In addition to his leading role in the spinoff, Pryor appeared in General Hospital. The two credits connect him to both the original soap and its later companion series.
A career spanning television and film
Pryor’s television acting career began in 1958 with an appearance on The Brighter Day, according to Legacy. The Los Angeles Times characterized his screen career as nearly seven decades and reported more than 170 film and television credits; that figure is a reported career total, not an audited count.

The Los Angeles Times reported that the agency of Pryor’s agent, Susan Tolar Walters, posted: “Nicholas was an incredible individual, both inside and out,” and “He will be greatly missed.” The newspaper attributed those words to the agency, not to Pryor’s family.
