Mingus Reedus, the son of actor Norman Reedus, was reported arrested in Manhattan on August 23, 2025. Later coverage said he accepted a conditional agreement on March 9, 2026: the case would be dismissed and sealed after one year only if he remained arrest-free and complied with a full order of protection. The available reports do not establish that those conditions have been completed.
What happened when Mingus Reedus was arrested?
TMZ reported that the NYPD confirmed Reedus was arrested on August 23, 2025, after officers responded to an assault report in Manhattan. According to TMZ’s account of the police response, officers observed a 33-year-old woman with minor injuries to her neck and leg; she was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition. These reported observations do not establish that Reedus committed an assault.
What charges were reported?
Contemporaneous coverage described the charges in different levels of detail. TV Insider, relaying information attributed to police sources cited by the New York Post, reported that Reedus was initially charged with criminal obstruction of breathing and third-degree assault. The Independent later listed five charges: third-degree assault, assault recklessly causing injury, criminal obstruction of breathing, second-degree harassment and aggravated harassment. These were reported charges, not findings of guilt.
How did Reedus respond?
The Independent reported that Reedus pleaded not guilty. The outlet also quoted his attorney, Priya Chaudhry, telling NBC News that “despite what the prosecutor said in court — which is not evidence — they chose to charge Mingus with misdemeanors or less.” That statement reflects the defense’s characterization of the case, not a court finding.

Were the charges dropped?
Not according to the most precise later account available. A March 10, 2026, Yahoo republication of People’s reporting said Reedus accepted a conditional Family Adjournment in Contemplation of Dismissal, or ACD, on March 9, along with a full order of protection. The report said the case would be dismissed and sealed after one year if he remained arrest-free and complied with the order. That is a conditional outcome, not a report that dismissal and sealing had already occurred.
Just Jared reported on March 9 that the case was being dismissed and quoted Chaudhry saying: “I was fully prepared to dismantle the prosecution’s case and show a jury exactly what happened here. We had the evidence, we had the facts, we had the proof. Perhaps the District Attorney recognized that because less than a week before trial, they made the offer to dismiss.” This is defense counsel’s advocacy, not an official finding about the evidence or the reason for the reported offer. The available reporting does not establish whether Reedus later met the ACD conditions or whether a court or prosecutor subsequently changed the case status.
