NCIS: Origins co-creator and co-showrunner Gina Lucita Monreal left the series after its second season to pursue new projects. Co-creator David J. North continued as the showrunner for season three.
Who left NCIS: Origins?
Monreal was the co-showrunner who departed—not North. TheWrap reported the news on January 28, 2026, saying Monreal would leave at the end of season two to pursue new projects. She had helped create the CBS drama, which follows a young Leroy Jethro Gibbs in the 1990s.
