Atlanta Hawks guard and Australian basketball player Dyson Daniels visited Ace Ballerz in Wanneroo on Saturday, August 2, 2025. A post-event report described a nearly six-hour appearance featuring basketball clinics for children and teenagers, shooting hoops and a question-and-answer session.
What happened at Ace Ballerz
PerthNow reported on August 7, 2025, that Daniels spent nearly six hours at the venue, working with young players in clinics for ages seven to 18, shooting hoops with them and taking part in a Q&A. The newspaper described it as a major day for the venue. PerthNow’s follow-up quoted Daniels saying: “The chance to try and help young players in the way I was helped at these camps, is something I enjoy doing.”
Where the visit took place
Ace Ballerz is at Drovers Marketplace, on the corner of Wanneroo Road and Joondalup Drive, according to PerthNow’s June 4, 2025 preview. The report described it as a family-run sports hub founded by local mother Alaina Habaybeh, intended to give children and teenagers a welcoming place to play and connect.
Why Daniels’s visit drew attention
The June preview linked interest in the appearance to Daniels’s 2024–25 NBA season. PerthNow reported that he won the NBA Most Improved Player award, becoming the first Australian recipient; recorded 202 steals, the league’s highest total in 15 years; led the NBA with 366 deflections; and finished runner-up in Defensive Player of the Year voting. These award and statistical claims are attributed to PerthNow’s coverage; the reports cited here do not provide an official NBA statistics or awards source.
