Toei Animation announced on January 25, 2026, that Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol is set for production. The announcement confirms the project, but gives no premiere date, streaming service, distributor, or viewing territory.
What was confirmed?
Toei made the announcement at Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri, a 40th-anniversary event held at Makuhari Messe in Japan. Its official announcement says the new anime is in production and reveals a teaser visual showing Goku and Vegeta together in clothing bearing the Galactic Patrol symbol.
The announcement names Son Goku and Vegeta as working with the Galactic Patrol, which it describes as peacekeepers of the galaxy. Their opponent is Moro, whom Toei calls the “Planet-Eater.”
What story does The Galactic Patrol cover?
Toei says the story follows the anime’s Universe Survival Arc, which aired from 2015 to 2018. The corresponding story in the Dragon Ball Super manga is called the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Arc. The Dragon Ball Official Site also places the project after the Universe Survival Arc, while Shueisha’s publisher notice confirms the production and notes that the manga is serialized in V Jump.
#1 Best Overall
That establishes the connection between the anime project and the manga arc; it does not, by itself, confirm further details about the adaptation’s scope.
When will the anime be released, and where can fans watch it?
The reviewed official announcements do not give a release date, episode count, streaming service, broadcast territory, or distributor for The Galactic Patrol. No viewing platform or international release arrangement is confirmed in those announcements, so claims about a particular year, season, or service should be treated as unconfirmed.
Rank #2
The Dragon Ball Official Site separately says Dragon Ball Super: Beerus is due to premiere in Fall 2026. That date belongs to a different title and does not establish when The Galactic Patrol will arrive.
