Yes. The first Avengers: Doomsday teaser confirms that Chris Evans is returning as Steve Rogers: its closing card says, “Steve Rogers will return in ‘Avengers: Doomsday.’” The teaser first circulated as a theater recording before Marvel released it publicly on December 23, 2025, so “leaked” describes how it surfaced—not whether this particular footage was verified.
What the leaked teaser shows
ABC News describes Steve riding a motorcycle to a farmhouse, wearing a wedding band, holding a newborn, and looking at his old Captain America suit. The closing card provides the direct confirmation: “Steve Rogers will return in ‘Avengers: Doomsday.’” The wording confirms the character’s appearance, not the story behind it. (ABC News)
What remains unanswered
The teaser does not identify the baby or explain how Steve returns. It also does not say whether he will take up the Captain America mantle again. Variety raised the possibility that Steve could be back in the main timeline or appear as a variant; those are questions, not confirmed plot details. (Variety)
How to distinguish this leak from later claims
This first Steve Rogers teaser leaked as theater-recorded footage and was subsequently released online by Marvel, as ABC News and Variety reported. That verified path does not make every later clip labeled a “leak” authentic. ComicBook.com reported that purported newer teasers included AI-generated fakes. In September 2026, Hallels reported that claims of a full-film leak remained unconfirmed at the time of its article; a later Cosmic Book News report described a matching Doctor Doom image in a promotional spot while noting Marvel had not commented on the leak. Release date and brief cast context
Variety reported that Avengers: Doomsday was scheduled for theatrical release on December 18, 2026. Film schedules can change, so check Marvel’s current listing for the latest date. Variety also reported that Robert Downey Jr. would play Doctor Doom, rather than Tony Stark, and named returning performers including Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Sebastian Stan, Patrick Stewart, and Ian McKellen. Why the teaser matters
The footage makes a specific announcement rather than offering a vague cameo hint: Marvel’s closing card names Steve Rogers as returning. The farmhouse, wedding band, baby, and stored suit create questions about what has happened to him, but none supplies the answer. Anthony and Joe Russo, the film’s directors, described the character as “The character that changed our lives” in an Instagram caption reproduced by ABC News; that sentiment is not an additional plot confirmation.
