The two clearest wide-release choices were Captain America: Brave New World and Paddington in Peru. The calendar also included limited releases and re-releases, so not every title was available in every theater.
Wide releases on February 14
Captain America: Brave New World
Marvel Studios’ new Captain America film opened in U.S. cinemas on February 14, according to Disney’s official press kit. Julius Onah directed, and Kevin Feige and Nate Moore produced. It was one of the two titles Box Office Mojo marked as a wide release that day.
Paddington in Peru
The family adventure was the other February 14 wide release listed by Box Office Mojo’s U.S. domestic calendar. Its wide-release designation distinguishes it from films opening in more limited runs, though local showtimes still depend on the theater and market.
Other U.S. releases around February 14
The domestic calendar’s February 14 listings also included films with narrower releases, specialty programming, and a re-release. Their presence on the date does not mean they had the same theater count or nationwide availability as the two wide releases.

Box Office Mojo also lists a wide re-release of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban on February 15. Check local listings for availability, especially for limited-run titles.
Why the answer changes outside the U.S.
Release dates are territory-specific. The U.S. calendar is not a reliable guide to what opened in the UK and Ireland that same week: the Film Distributors’ Association schedule, which covers those territories and is sourced from Comscore Movies, lists several different dates and titles.

Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy opened in UK and Irish cinemas on Thursday, February 13, while Heart Eyes and Captain America: Brave New World were listed for Friday, February 14. The schedule also includes The Sloth Lane, Hum Aapke Hain Koun!, Laila, Painkili, Bromance, To A Land Unknown, and Cottontail around February 14. See the Film Distributors’ Association release schedule for that territory.
Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy was not a U.S. theatrical opening
Working Title’s film page gives the movie a February 13, 2025 release date and identifies it as based on Helen Fielding’s novel. In the U.S., however, it went straight to Peacock rather than opening in theaters, while it played theatrically in the UK and Ireland, as the Associated Press reported. Likewise, Heart Eyes had opened in the U.S. the prior weekend; it should not be described as a February 14 U.S. premiere.

Opening-weekend context
The Associated Press reported studio estimates of $88.5 million in North American Friday-to-Sunday ticket sales for Captain America: Brave New World and $13 million for Paddington in Peru in 2025. Those were estimates, not final grosses; AP said final domestic figures would follow Tuesday. These numbers describe opening-weekend performance, not theater availability.
