Mor Ilderton left Gwen Stefani’s team before the Knockouts on The Voice Season 26. The show did not disclose why he had to leave, so the available reporting does not establish whether he chose to go or what circumstances led to his departure.
What happened to Mor Ilderton on The Voice?
During the November 18, 2024 episode, Gwen Stefani introduced her remaining team members to Knockouts mentor Sting and explained that Ilderton was no longer on her team. Stefani said: “We had Mor, who I stole, but he had to go home, so it’s just gonna be the two of them.” The Los Angeles Times reported the statement on November 20, 2024.
Stefani’s words confirm that Ilderton was gone before his team’s Knockouts. They do not explain why. Neither the show nor the contemporaneous report gave a reason, and the Times said Ilderton had not immediately responded to its request for comment. The available information therefore does not establish a motive, a specific personal or professional reason, or a conflict with the competition. It would be inaccurate to present his departure as a confirmed voluntary quit.
Who was the second contestant to leave Season 26?
Ilderton was reported as the second contestant to depart within two weeks. Tanner Frick left the week before. Frick had been on Reba McEntire’s team, lost in the Battles, and was then stolen by Michael Bublé.

- Fast-Paced Singing Challenge：Flip a prompt card, think of a matching song, and sing fast. Anyone can jump in and take over mid-song. The player holding the microphone when the spinning timer stops wins the round.
- Spinning Record Timer Adds Suspense：The record-shaped timer stops at random times, so every round is unpredictable. No one knows when it will end, keeping all players on edge and engaged throughout the game.
- No Singing Talent Required：Designed for bad singers, shy guests, and confident performers alike. Open-ended song prompts let players choose any track they know, from classic hits to holiday favorites, making it easy for everyone to participate.
- Complete Game Set for 2-12 Players：Includes 1 plastic microphone, 150 prompt cards, mute & solo token, spinning record timer, and instructions. Designed for ages 8 and up. Supports small groups and large parties.
- Great for Holiday Parties & Family Fun：Works for Christmas, Halloween, New Year's Eve, birthdays, girls' nights, and family gatherings. Gets everyone laughing, singing, and taking turns with the microphone together.
The two departures happened at different stages: Frick’s was reported after the Battles, while Ilderton was no longer with Stefani’s team before the Knockouts. The Los Angeles Times described Ilderton as the second contestant to drop out during that two-week period.
What was Ilderton’s single, “Strangers”?
At the time of the report, Ilderton had announced that his first single, “Strangers,” was scheduled for release on Friday, November 22, 2024. The Times described an Instagram announcement in which he said, “You may know me from this season” of The Voice, then called himself “a folk artist out of [West Virginia]” and invited viewers to “Come along this journey with me.”
