People en Español informó el 22 de enero de 2024 que Jiménez, modelo trans, era una de las precandidatas para representar a Valle del Cauca y buscaba participar en la selección nacional rumbo a Miss Universe. Diario Las Américas publicó una nota al día siguiente y también la describió como precandidata. People en Español y Diario Las Américas respaldan esa condición en el momento de sus publicaciones.
Precandidata no significa finalista ni ganadora
La distinción importa: las notas informan que Jiménez fue seleccionada como precandidata y expresaba su intención de competir, no que hubiera avanzado a la fase final de Miss Universe Colombia 2024. Las fuentes disponibles tampoco establecen un resultado posterior. Por ello, no es posible afirmar con base en esta cobertura que hubiera participado en la competencia final o ganado el título.
Su trayectoria en concursos
People en Español señaló que Jiménez había competido en Miss International Queen 2022 y terminado como primera finalista. La nota relacionó su oportunidad de postularse con cambios en las reglas de Miss Universe que eliminaron restricciones para mujeres trans y para mujeres mayores de 28 años. Sin embargo, el artículo no reproduce el texto oficial de elegibilidad, por lo que ese contexto debe atribuirse a la publicación y no tomarse como una cita de las reglas del certamen.

Diario Las Américas reprodujo una publicación de Jiménez en Instagram: “Mi madre me dijo un día: ‘la tercera es la vencida’, y soy fiel creyente de la palabra y el amor tan incondicional de ella. No saben lo feliz que estoy y lo orgullosa que me siento. Gracias a todos y por tanto”. Es una expresión personal de alegría y orgullo ante la posibilidad de competir, no un anuncio del organizador.
El contexto de Miss Universe Colombia 2024
Al presentar la edición de 2024, People en Español indicó que María Camila Avella, ganadora de Miss Universe Colombia 2023, coronaría a su sucesora al cierre del certamen de ese año. Esa referencia describe el contexto de la cobertura publicada entonces; no aporta una actualización sobre el desenlace de la precandidatura de Jiménez.
