In May 2024, Nina Agdal shared photos from a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit beach shoot in Belize while pregnant. She described the return as coming 12 years after her rookie year with the magazine. Her debut was in 2012 in Desroches Island, Seychelles, where she later earned SI Swimsuit’s Rookie of the Year honor.
What happened in Nina Agdal’s 2024 SI Swimsuit shoot?
Agdal shared images from a beach photoshoot in Belize in May 2024. In the caption reproduced by PerthNow, she wrote: “12 years after my first year as a @si_swimsuit rookie, and I’m honoured to be back where it all started 🙏 #siswim (with a baby girl in the belly 🩷🥹). Thank you, dream team”.
The wording was Agdal’s social-media caption, not a separate interview quotation. The report identifies the shoot as taking place in Belize; the phrase “back where it all started” refers to her return to SI Swimsuit, rather than indicating that the shoot was in the location of her original feature.
How did the shoot connect to her SI Swimsuit career?
2012: Rookie debut
Agdal’s first SI Swimsuit appearance was photographed in Desroches Island, Seychelles, in 2012. Sports Illustrated’s career profile says she earned Rookie of the Year honors after that feature.

The 12-year interval in Agdal’s caption runs from her 2012 rookie year to the 2024 shoot. It is a description of that past milestone, not an indication that she is currently pregnant. SI Swimsuit’s current profile describes Agdal as a mother and reports a later shoot in Montauk in 2026; it does not establish a present pregnancy.
