Pierce Brosnan has five children: Charlotte and Christopher, whom he adopted after the death of their father; Sean, his son with his first wife, Cassandra Harris; and Dylan and Paris, his sons with his wife, Keely Shaye Smith. Charlotte died in 2013. The family’s story spans two marriages, adoption, loss, and the creative lives some of the children have pursued.
How Pierce Brosnan’s family is connected
Brosnan’s five children come from two family chapters. Cassandra Harris had Charlotte and Christopher with her previous husband, Dermot Harris. After Dermot died, Brosnan adopted both children. He and Cassandra also had a son together, Sean. Brosnan’s sons with his current wife, Keely Shaye Smith, are Dylan and Paris.

That family structure matters: Charlotte and Christopher were Brosnan’s adopted children as well as Harris’s children from her earlier marriage, while Sean, Dylan, and Paris are his biological sons.
Charlotte Brosnan
Charlotte was the daughter of Cassandra and Dermot Harris. Brosnan adopted her after Dermot’s death. She died in June 2013 at age 41 from ovarian cancer, the same disease that had taken her mother, according to Parade’s 2025 account.

In a statement to People quoted by Parade, Brosnan said: “Charlotte fought her cancer with grace and humanity, courage and dignity. Our hearts are heavy with the loss of our beautiful dear girl.” He also expressed hope for a cure and thanked people for their condolences.
Christopher Brosnan
Christopher is Charlotte’s brother and the son of Cassandra and Dermot Harris. Brosnan adopted him after Dermot died. Public accounts of Christopher and Pierce’s relationship have varied over the years: Esquire’s 2019 interview described loving communication between them, while El País reported in November 2025 that they were photographed leaving a family dinner together. A public sighting does not, by itself, establish the details or status of a private relationship.
IrishCentral’s 2019 profile reported creative work by Christopher, but that dated description should not be read as a current career update.
Sean Brosnan
Sean is Pierce Brosnan and Cassandra Harris’s biological son. In a 2019 Esquire interview, Pierce spoke of Sean’s young daughter and becoming a grandfather: “Sean has the most beautiful daughter that I am grandpa to.” The interview also described Sean as studying for a psychology degree and starting a family at that time. IrishCentral’s 2019 profile reported acting and filmmaking work; those are historical details, not confirmation of his current work or circumstances.
Dylan Brosnan
Dylan is the elder of Pierce and Keely Shaye Smith’s two sons. The Guardian reported in 2020 that he had graduated from USC film school and described him as a musician. IrishCentral had also reported modeling and creative film work in 2019. These sources offer a snapshot of his activities at those dates rather than a present-day résumé.
Paris Brosnan
Paris is Pierce and Keely’s younger son. The Guardian described him as a model in 2020; IrishCentral’s 2019 profile also reported modeling and short-film work. Those descriptions are time-bound, not an assurance of his current occupation.

In a 2020 interview with The Guardian, Brosnan described his sons’ academic and creative interests and said, “My boys are academic and have a creative instinct and intuition towards the arts. So I don’t try to direct them.” The comment captures his stated approach to parenting without suggesting that their paths are identical.
Keely Shaye Smith was quoted by IrishCentral describing her children as “the heartbeat of our family.” The profile excerpt does not give the original date of her statement.
