The Metallica M72 Tour 2023 presales are over. Fifth Member fan-club members had to request a personal code; U.S. Citi cardmembers could access a separate presale through Citi Entertainment. Other Live Nation or Ticketmaster offers varied by city, so there was no verified universal code for every show.
When did Metallica M72 Tour 2023 presales start?
For single-day tickets, the Fifth Member presale began Monday, January 16, 2023: 9 a.m. local time in the United States, Canada and Mexico, and 10 a.m. local time in Europe. General sale began Friday, January 20, 2023. These dates come from Metallica’s January 11, 2023 announcement and its M72 World Tour FAQ.
How did the Fifth Member presale code work?
Metallica required each fan-club member to request a personal presale ticket code. The 2023 FAQ said the code would be sent to the email address on the member profile and displayed on the Fifth Member profile page. It allowed up to four tickets per show, subject to the limit of four tickets per fan per city.
For a current Fifth Member account, Metallica Help says a requested code appears in the account’s Presale Codes section and is also emailed. See Metallica’s presale-code help page. That current account guidance does not make a 2023 code valid for a later event.

What were the Citi presale details?
Metallica identified Citi as the official card of the M72 Tour. U.S. Citi cardmembers could access the Citi Entertainment presale starting January 16, 2023 at 2 p.m. local time. The announcement does not publish a reusable universal Citi code; the access route was through Citi Entertainment and eligibility as a Citi cardmember.
Was there a universal Live Nation or Ticketmaster code?
No universal code is established by Metallica’s official information. The band said additional presales varied according to the city a fan wanted to attend. A Live Nation or Ticketmaster offer, if available for a particular 2023 event, therefore needed to be checked against that event’s own listing and sale instructions. The official sources cited here do not verify a single code that worked for every venue.

- General sale: the FAQ listed a limit of six tickets per person, with some exceptions.
Are the 2023 M72 presale codes still valid?
No. The January 2023 sale dates have passed, so those codes and offers are historical, not current ticket access. Ticketmaster’s current M72 World Tour help page lists 2027 event information; it should not be read as evidence that the 2023 schedule or codes apply to newer shows.
