Spoilers for the finale of The Copenhagen Test. The finale opens the story into a wider conspiracy, but it does not mean a second season is on the way: Variety reported that Peacock canceled the series after one season on April 15, 2026. The ending suggests questions a continuation could have explored; it is not evidence that one was approved.

Will The Copenhagen Test have a Season 2?

No Season 2 is supported by the available reporting. Variety reported on April 15, 2026, that Peacock canceled the series after one season. The report described a positive critical response but said the show did not find a wide audience; it was not a Peacock press release. Yahoo republished Variety’s report.

That makes the finale’s unresolved threads a setup for a possible continuation, not confirmation of a production plan. Peacock’s own ending explainer covers the plot reveals, not a cast announcement of a Season 2.

What happened at the end of The Copenhagen Test?

Alexander Hale, played by Simu Liu, is an intelligence analyst whose senses have been hacked, allowing someone to access what he sees and hears. The show turns that breach into a threat to his personal relationships as well as his work. In the final sequence, several conversations reveal that the danger extends beyond Alexander and the immediate agency conflict.

Michelle offers Alexander a way out

After the agency apparently releases Michelle, she finds Alexander on a train. Michelle, played by Melissa Barrera, says she is done with the spy life and invites him to find her when he is ready to leave it. The moment leaves their future open rather than showing Alexander make a final choice.

St. George confronts Schiff

St. George confronts Schiff over his involvement with the hack. He exploited it and found a back door into the signal, but she concludes he did not originate it. Their exchange also brings up her having left him behind in East Berlin in 1989.

Parker suspects Alexander was selected long ago

Parker tells Moira that Alexander may not have been chosen at random. She suspects he was curated as a high-value investment years earlier. The finale does not identify who selected him or explain the full purpose of that long-term preparation.

Victor reveals the wider operation

Victor, Alexander’s longtime friend, admits that he hacked Alexander and ordered the original Copenhagen Test in Belarus years earlier as a loyalty test. He takes Alexander to a hidden room containing feeds from other hacked people. Alexander’s screen is offline, but another feed shows Michelle meeting a man and a girl. Victor says she is a loose end they still have to watch.

Victor’s final line to Alexander is, “For people like us, Alexander, it’s never done.” In context, it lands as a warning about the surveillance operation still in motion—not as a statement about the show’s renewal or production.

Who hacked Alexander in The Copenhagen Test?

Victor confesses that he hacked Alexander and ordered the earlier loyalty test. The finale distinguishes Victor’s role from Schiff’s: Schiff took advantage of the hack and accessed its signal through a back door, but St. George concludes he did not create it. Victor’s confession explains the immediate betrayal while leaving the larger operation’s origins unresolved.

What questions does the finale leave open?

  • Who chose Alexander? Parker’s suspicion points to a scheme that may have started years before the events on screen, but the finale does not name its architect or motive.
  • Who else has been hacked? Victor’s hidden room shows multiple people under surveillance; it does not establish who is behind the network as a whole.
  • What will happen to Michelle? Her feed is still being watched, even as she tries to leave the spy life and offers Alexander a chance to join her.
  • Will Alexander leave the agency’s world? Michelle gives him an opening, but the finale ends before he accepts or rejects it.

Where can you watch The Copenhagen Test?
