She described the operation as injury repair, not cosmetic surgery, according to an AOL report published January 23, 2026.
What did Martha Stewart say about plastic surgery?
As quoted by AOL’s January 23, 2026 report, which credited an original InStyle article by Hannah Malach, Stewart said: “Everybody insists that I’ve had plastic surgery and I have not ever had plastic surgery.” The report also quoted her adding, “That’s the truth!”
The quotations were attributed to Stewart’s interview with People. The original interview was not independently available for verification, so the wording here follows AOL’s account.
What did she say about her lip injury?
Stewart recounted an accident in which she startled one of her French bulldogs and split her lip. She said a plastic surgeon repaired the injury with stitches. Her distinction was that this was treatment for an injury, not cosmetic surgery; the account should not be read as a claim that she has never received any facial medical treatment.

Why was Stewart discussing skincare?
The remarks came while Stewart was promoting Elm Biosciences, her skincare line. AOL’s report named the line’s A3O Elemental Night Cream and listed it at $165 at the time of publication in January 2026. That is a historical reported price, not confirmation of the cream’s current price or availability.
