Em 25 de setembro de 2026, a Reuters informou que a autora retratou a acusação contra Jay-Z e afirmou que nunca o conheceu. Em declaração apresentada no processo por difamação movido por Carter contra ela e seu escritório de advocacia, escreveu que “não havia verdade” nas acusações. A Reuters reproduziu a declaração: “Shawn ‘Jay-Z’ Carter nunca me estuprou. Nunca conheci nem falei com o sr. Carter. O sr. Carter nunca teve qualquer comportamento impróprio comigo”.

Segundo a Reuters, a mulher também afirmou que Combs não a estuprou. Ela atribuiu aos antigos advogados falta de investigação independente e de corroboração antes de a ação ser apresentada. Como interpretar as declarações e os processos

A ação civil não era o processo criminal de Combs
A acusação da mulher era uma ação civil separada. A Reuters esclareceu que ela não se confundia com o processo criminal federal contra Combs, no qual ele foi condenado em 2025 por duas acusações de transporte para fins de prostituição e recebeu uma pena de 50 meses.
