Mariah Carey performed at Fridayz Live at Langley Park on Friday, 24 October 2025. In PerthNow’s review, published the following morning, Kellie Balaam praised Carey’s vocals and whistle notes while describing her as moving slowly and appearing tired. The Perth review also says Carey did not sing “All I Want For Christmas Is You” that night.
How Mariah Carey’s Perth performance was received
Rain did not keep R&B fans away from Fridayz Live, which PerthNow framed as a rap and hip-hop dance party built around 1990s and 2000s throwback songs. Carey came on at about 10pm wearing black and boots. Reviewer Kellie Balaam singled out her vocals and whistle notes, citing “Hero” and “Always Be My Baby.” Balaam also felt Carey looked tired and moved slowly; those are the reviewer’s impressions, not objective measures of her condition or performance.
PerthNow’s review is the source for that assessment. It offers a snapshot of one set, rather than an independent comparison of Carey’s performances across the tour.

The setlist.fm entry maps four of the listed songs to The Emancipation of Mimi. That album connection may be useful if you want to revisit the music, but the setlist entry does not establish that the songs were presented as an album-focused segment.
Did Mariah Carey sing “All I Want For Christmas Is You” in Perth?
No, according to PerthNow’s account of the Langley Park show: the song was absent from the Perth set, disappointing some attendees. That does not mean Carey left it out everywhere on the tour. Southern Cross Austereo’s post-event recap says she closed her Sydney set with it, documenting a difference between the two cities’ reported sets.

In its 27 October 2025 release, Southern Cross Austereo reported sold-out shows across four cities and total attendance of 160,000. The figure is organizer-reported; the available reporting does not establish an independent audit. The organizer’s advance announcement called the 2025 edition the “eighth Fridayz Live,” while its post-event release called it the series’ “seventh massive year,” so an ordinal is not clear from those materials.
