Bella later joins him at a downstairs bar, where they kiss, according to PerthNow’s recap of the episode, published 3 September 2024.
Why the dinner party became a flashpoint
The scene follows the day after Lawson’s 22nd birthday. As PerthNow’s recap tells it, Lawson had been trying to work things out with Molly while still feeling attached to his ex, Bella. He tells Molly those are “love feelings” and says, “I believe Bella is my soulmate and I can’t continue seeing you when I love her.” The recap says Molly is hurt, but appreciates his honesty.
That conversation sets up the conflict at Jai’s dinner party: Molly is now aware of Lawson’s feelings, but the situation remains unresolved when the group gets together.
What happened at Jai’s dinner party?
PerthNow describes Lawson and Bella as getting cosy in front of Molly. Lachy calls Lawson insensitive. Lawson responds, “After four years of history it’s hard not to,” referring to his history with Bella, as the recap reports the exchange.
