The concert was held on Copacabana Beach on May 3, 2025, as part of Rio’s “Todo Mundo no Rio” platform. Admission was free. In its May 2 announcement, City Hall said Gaga was scheduled to perform at 9:45 p.m. local time. The Associated Press reported that she began at about 10:10 p.m.

The city’s economic study described “Todo Mundo no Rio” as a sponsored initiative planned over four years, with the aim of making May an important date on Rio’s calendar. It named Bonus Track as the Brazilian production company and said TV Globo would broadcast the concert live.
How many people attended?
Rio City Hall’s May 4 post-event report put attendance at 2.1 million, attributing the count to the city, the Military Police and the show’s production team. The Associated Press also reported the 2.1 million figure, citing organizers.

How much money did the concert bring to Rio?
The available figures are forecasts, not a final audited tally of money spent because of the concert. Rio’s Municipal Secretariat for Economic Development and Riotur estimated an economic impact of R$592.2 million in a study published in April 2025. City Hall’s pre-event announcement rounded its headline projection to more than R$600 million.
What the R$592.2 million estimate represents
The study modeled an audience of 1.6 million—the same assumed audience size used for the 2024 Madonna concert—and estimated the mix of local residents, domestic tourists and international tourists using a distribution derived from Riotur’s New Year’s Eve research. It applied different average daily spending and lengths of stay to those groups. The estimate was prepared by the Municipal Secretariat for Economic Development and Riotur, with Marcel Balassiano and Renata Paes Leme named as authors.
The model’s audience assumption was lower than the city’s later reported attendance of 2.1 million. That difference does not establish a revised economic impact: the published R$592.2 million remains a modeled estimate based on its stated assumptions, not a measured post-event total.
Tourist arrivals reported after the show
City Hall’s May 4 report said more than 500,000 tourists arrived between May 1 and 3, based on consolidated figures from Novo Rio bus station and Tom Jobim International Airport. The city had initially forecast 240,000 visitors. These arrival figures are not the same as concert attendance and do not, by themselves, measure the concert’s final economic impact.

What did Lady Gaga perform?
The Associated Press reported that Gaga opened with “Bloody Mary” and also performed hits including “Poker Face” and “Alejandro.” Those songs are examples reported from the concert, not a complete setlist. AP also quoted Gaga telling the crowd: “Tonight, we’re making history. (…) Thank you for making history with me.”

Before the concert, City Hall published an operations notice describing road closures and expanded public transport, including round-the-clock service for some transit modes. Those details were plans for the May 2025 event, not current travel guidance.
