Katy Perry announced “Woman’s World” on June 17, 2024, describing it as the first single from her then-untitled forthcoming album. The song was scheduled for July 11 at 7 p.m. ET, with its video planned for the following morning. The album was later announced as 143, released September 20, 2024.
What Perry revealed in the teaser
In a TikTok teaser reported by Good Morning America, Perry sang the excerpt: “Sexy, confident / So intelligent / She is heaven-sent / So soft, so strong.” It was a preview, not a complete set of lyrics. Her announcement also urged fans to “GET READY TO POP OFF.”
When the song and video came out
Perry’s June announcement set the single’s release for July 11, 2024, at 7 p.m. ET and the video for the next morning. The song and video subsequently arrived: Universal Music Canada’s release notice, dated July 11 and published July 12, said they were out, and the official video listing is dated July 11, 2024. The planned next-morning timing and the video listing’s publication date are distinct details.
How “Woman’s World” fit into 143
At the time of the single announcement, Perry had not publicly named the album or given its release date. Universal Music Canada later identified it as 143 and announced a September 20, 2024 release. The label quoted Perry describing her aim as “a bold, exuberant, celebratory dance-pop album” with the symbolic numerical expression of love, 143, as a throughline.
