He began hosting on February 12, taking the Monday slot through the 2024 election cycle while also serving as an executive producer. The show’s correspondents hosted Tuesday through Thursday.
When did Jon Stewart return to The Daily Show?
Paramount announced Stewart’s return on January 24, 2024, with his first episode planned for February 12. The announcement said he would executive produce the Comedy Central program and host every Monday through the 2024 election cycle. Paramount’s January 24 announcement attributed the decision to Chris McCarthy, then president and CEO of Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios.
McCarthy described Stewart as “the voice of our generation” and said the company was honored to have him return to help audiences make sense of the election season. That was the company’s promotional statement, not an independent assessment.
Was Stewart hosting every night?
No. The announced arrangement divided the week: Stewart hosted Mondays, while The Daily Show’s correspondents shared hosting duties Tuesday through Thursday. The network confirmed that schedule in an April 25, 2024 announcement. It also said the program aired on Comedy Central, with next-day viewing announced for Paramount+, CC.com, and the Comedy Central app. These were the distribution details for the 2024 arrangement; they do not establish current catalog or regional availability. The expanded coverage included live programs after the closing nights of both major-party conventions. In June, the network announced that those programs would be available the following morning on Paramount+ and Comedy Central VOD. Paramount’s June 20 announcement
For election night, Comedy Central scheduled a live, one-hour special for November 5, 2024, at 11 p.m. The announcement said it would become available on Paramount+ and VOD beginning November 6. Both dates have passed; this describes the announced 2024 event, not an upcoming broadcast. Paramount’s October 28 announcement

What the announcement does—and does not—establish

They do not provide an audience or ratings figure, so promotional language about ratings growth should not be mistaken for a quantified result. Nor do the 2024 viewing details confirm where the episodes are available today.
