In January 2024, Jimmy Kimmel denied having any contact with Jeffrey Epstein after Aaron Rodgers made a remark that appeared to suggest Kimmel might be named among Epstein’s associates. Kimmel warned Rodgers that his words could have consequences; Rodgers later said he was not calling Kimmel a pedophile and was glad Kimmel was not on the list. The exchange did not establish a connection between Kimmel and Epstein.
What Aaron Rodgers said on January 2
During a January 2, 2024 appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers said that “a lot of people, including Jimmy Kimmel,” hoped a list of Epstein associates would not be released. In context, the comment appeared to imply that Kimmel might be on the list, as contemporaneous coverage by CBS News and the Associated Press described it.
That interpretation is not evidence that Kimmel had ties to Epstein. The distinction matters: Rodgers’ comment concerned a forthcoming list, while Kimmel denied knowing or having contact with Epstein.
How Jimmy Kimmel responded
Kimmel said he had not met, flown with, visited, or otherwise had contact with Epstein. He also objected to the implication and warned Rodgers about the consequences of repeating it. In a response quoted by contemporaneous reporting, Kimmel said: “Your reckless words put my family in danger. Keep it up and we will debate the facts further in court.” The statement was reported by CBS News.

Kimmel addressed the dispute on his show on January 8. The Associated Press also reported that social-media users wrongly claimed Kimmel might appear in the released records; the records and contemporaneous coverage did not establish a connection between Kimmel and Epstein. See the AP report.
Rodgers’ later clarification
On January 9, Rodgers returned to The Pat McAfee Show and disputed how his earlier comment had been interpreted. He said he was glad Kimmel was not on the list and stated: “Any type of name calling is ridiculous and I’m not calling him (a pedophile), and neither should you.” The wording was reported by CBS News and the Associated Press.

Did Rodgers say Kimmel was on the Epstein list?
Rodgers did not state outright that Kimmel was on the list in the January 2 remark. His wording appeared to imply that possibility, which prompted Kimmel’s denial and response. Rodgers later rejected the interpretation and said he was glad Kimmel was not on the list. Neither the remark nor the dispute establishes that Kimmel had a connection to Epstein.
