Awkwafina stars as Katie Kim, who turns to lottery protection agent Noel Cassidy, played by John Cena, while rival Louis Lewis, played by Simu Liu, pursues the prize.
What is Jackpot! about?
Set in a near-future version of California, the film imagines a lottery with a deadly rule: after a winner is selected, other ticket holders may try to kill that person before sundown and claim the winnings. Katie Kim arrives in Los Angeles and mistakenly becomes the winning ticket holder. With her life suddenly at risk, she reluctantly teams up with Noel Cassidy, a freelance lottery protection agent who offers to keep her safe in exchange for a share of the prize.

The arrangement puts Katie and Noel on the run as they face Louis Lewis, a rival who also wants the commission. The premise drives a survival chase built around an absurd fictional lottery—not a real California lottery rule.
