No: the public evidence strongly indicates Timothée Chalamet and EsDeeKid are separate artists. Chalamet’s coy answer to a question about the rumor did not confirm it; nine days later, he appeared alongside EsDeeKid on a remix of “4 Raws.” That collaboration undercuts the one-person theory, but it does not reveal EsDeeKid’s legal identity.
Why did people think Timothée Chalamet might be EsDeeKid?
The theory circulated online in November 2025. Billboard reported that interview hosts and fans pointed to what they saw as similarities between the artists’ eyes, while the pair’s silence about the speculation helped keep it alive. Those were circumstantial clues and explanations for the rumor’s spread—not evidence that Chalamet was behind the mask. Billboard

What did Chalamet say about the rumor?
On December 11, 2025, Chalamet was asked about EsDeeKid in a Heart Radio interview. Billboard reported that he first replied, “I’ve got no comment,” then added: “I’ve got two words on that. All will be revealed in due time.” It was a deliberately teasing response, not a confirmation or a clear denial. Billboard
What happened after his answer?
On December 19, 2025, Chalamet appeared with EsDeeKid on a remix of “4 Raws,” and the two appeared together in a video. The Independent reported that Chalamet also posted the song to his social accounts. Seeing them collaborate publicly is strong evidence that they are distinct people, and it makes the claim that Chalamet was secretly performing as EsDeeKid highly implausible. Does the collaboration reveal who EsDeeKid is?
No. A joint track distinguishes the two performers; it does not establish EsDeeKid’s legal name. The Independent reported on December 20, 2025 that EsDeeKid performed with a balaclava covering his face and that his real name and age were then unknown. That is a time-specific account, not proof that his identity remains undisclosed today. The reviewed reporting contains no attributable statement from EsDeeKid explaining the rumor or confirming a legal identity. The Independent

Chalamet had rapped under the alias Lil’ Timmy while growing up, according to Billboard. The Independent separately recounts his joke about the name “Lil Timmy Tin” and a high-school performance from 2012 that later went viral. These accounts describe his earlier interest in rap, but neither links him to EsDeeKid. Billboard The Independent
