Why the ending leaves room for a sequel
The film adapts Scott Westerfeld’s 2005 novel. At the end, Tally agrees to become Pretty as part of a plan to help the rebels. Director McG described her decision to Netflix Tudum: “She makes the ultimate sacrifice in the end where she elects to become Pretty.”
