The announcement followed what Osbourne described as the couple’s biggest fight. The reports establish that they planned the change—not that it was completed or what Sidney’s current legal surname is.
What did Kelly Osbourne and Sid Wilson disagree about?
The disagreement was whether their son, Sidney, would have both parents’ surnames. ABC News reported on February 28, 2024, that Sidney initially had Wilson’s last name. Osbourne said she wanted her own surname included as well.
As quoted by ABC News from The Osbournes Podcast, Osbourne explained: “We both made our child so they should have both of our last names.”
Why did Osbourne call it their biggest fight?
Osbourne described the argument as unusually serious for the couple. Marie Claire quoted her calling it “the biggest fight me and my baby’s father have ever, ever, ever had, and probably ever, ever will was over naming our son.”

Marie Claire also reported Osbourne’s characterization that Wilson came from a traditional English family. That was her explanation of his initial resistance, not an independently established account of his family or his reasons.

Osbourne said that after conversations and couples therapy, the couple agreed to pursue a legal name change. ABC News quoted her announcement: “We are going to legally change our son’s name to have both of our last names.”
Her statement described a future plan. The reports do not establish whether the legal process was later completed, whether the surnames were hyphenated, or Sidney’s exact current legal name. It is therefore accurate to say Osbourne announced a plan for him to have both parents’ last names, but not to state that he now legally does.
