Kevin Smith has confirmed a new Jay and Silent Bob headliner film called Jay and Silent Bob: Store Wars. A January 2026 report described it as a stoner-comedy take on a long-running Mad Magazine feature, but offered no detailed synopsis. At the time, the project was in casting and had no announced release date; that dated status should not be treated as confirmation of its current progress.
What is the new Jay and Silent Bob movie called?
The reported title is Jay and Silent Bob: Store Wars. The announcement came in an interview with Smith while he was promoting the long-awaited re-release of Dogma. The accessible syndicated excerpt identifies Collider’s Steve Weintraub as the interviewer.
Smith, who writes and directs the films and performs Silent Bob, said: “Believe it or not, man, we still find financing for Jay and Silent Bob pictures,…” The excerpt cuts off there, so it does not establish how he completed the thought.
What is Store Wars about?
The January report characterizes the film as a stoner-comedy take on a long-running Mad Magazine feature. That is a broad premise description, not a full synopsis: the available excerpt does not establish the story, the specific feature being adapted, or other plot details.

Where does it fit in the Jay and Silent Bob films?
Store Wars is described as the pair’s next headliner movie, following Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (2001) and Jay and Silent Bob Reboot (2019). It is not their first return to the screen since 2001; the distinction is that this is the next film centered on them as headliners.
When is Jay and Silent Bob: Store Wars coming out?
No release date was reported in the January 2026 coverage. That report also said casting was underway. Those are the latest located details in the available coverage, not a verified update on the film’s status in October 2026. No later release announcement or production change is established here.
