The visual evokes a familiar AI-image mistake, but the poster alone does not prove whether AI was used to create it.
What the poster shows
Paramount Pictures’ poster features Neeson as Frank Drebin Jr. holding a gun. Above the image, it prints: “NO AI WAS USED IN THE MAKING OF THIS POSTER.” The hand appears to have eight fingers. The tagline beneath the joke is “He has a firm grip of the law.” BGR described the image and its wording in its June 30, 2025 report (BGR); Creative Bloq covered the poster the following day (Creative Bloq).
Why the extra fingers are the joke
Image generators have become associated with visual glitches such as hands with the wrong number of fingers. Here, the poster’s declaration that no AI was used sits beside precisely the kind of conspicuous hand error that audiences may associate with AI-generated imagery. The tagline about Drebin’s “firm grip” adds a second joke by calling attention to the hand itself.
Did AI actually make the poster?
The printed line is a claim made by the poster, not independent confirmation of its production process. The cited coverage describes the visual gag but does not establish how the artwork was made. It is therefore reasonable to read the poster as a parody of AI-image mistakes, but not to conclude from the available reporting that it was definitely made with AI—or definitely without it.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
This is also a poster joke, not evidence that the The Naked Gun feature film was made with generative AI. BGR’s June 30, 2025 article placed the image in the film’s promotional campaign and reported that the US premiere was scheduled for August 1, 2025. It is a 2025 campaign item, not a newly launched 2026 advertisement.
One piece of a deliberately chaotic campaign
The poster was not the only unusual promotional idea. In a July 26, 2025 report, Creative Bloq described a parody OnlyFans account for the film, which paired suggestive captions with innocuous images (Creative Bloq). That stunt used provocative copy for comic effect; the poster’s gag instead came from the mismatch between its no-AI claim and Neeson’s over-fingered hand.
