Who wore the topless statement-necklace look?
A contemporaneous IBTimes UK report published August 22, 2017 describes Mariah Carey as the topless figure wearing a statement necklace and fishnet stockings. It contrasts that image with Jennifer Lopez in a plunging bodysuit. The headline’s wording therefore appears to conflate two separate images.
The identification is consistent with PAPER’s own pages, which present Carey and Lopez as distinct subjects in its Las Vegas issue. Is the necklace identified or available to buy?
PAPER’s Carey feature lists “necklace and bracelets by On Aura Tout Vu” among its styling credits. The page does not connect that credit to the exact topless image or identify a retail product model. It therefore does not establish that the necklace in the reported look was a specific item readers can purchase.

A more accurate description is: Mariah Carey, not Jennifer Lopez, was reported wearing the topless statement-necklace look in PAPER’s 2017 Las Vegas issue. Lopez did have a separate story in that issue, photographed by Ellen von Unwerth. Without independently verifying the precise image asset, a more image-specific claim would go beyond what the published descriptions and credits establish.
