The reports named two charges, but do not establish that he was convicted or what he personally did at the demonstration.
What was reported about the arrest
Reports published between 6 and 8 September 2020 said Malkovich was among 27 people arrested or taken into custody in Portland. They described the demonstration as the 100th consecutive night of protests. Those figures and that description are contemporaneous reporting, not an independently verified arrest roster or event count.
PerthNow’s 6 September article attributed key details about Malkovich to Page Six and broader protest information to Reuters and The Oregonian. Infobae, reporting on 7 September, said his name appeared on a list of 27 detained people, attributing that information to a Portland Police Bureau statement reported by Page Six. AceShowbiz published a further account on 8 September, identifying its report as AI-assisted and describing its information as aggregated from public sources. These are reports of an arrest, not a direct account of a court finding.
What charges were reported—and what they do not prove
The contemporaneous accounts named interfering with a peace officer and second-degree disorderly conduct as charges reported at the time. A charge is an allegation, not a conviction. The reviewed accounts do not establish whether Malkovich entered a plea, was convicted, had the charges dismissed, or had another final case outcome.

The articles also discussed the Multnomah County district attorney’s stated policy about not prosecuting some low-level protest-related counts and noted that some arrests might be handled federally. That general policy context does not show what happened in Malkovich’s individual case.
What is not established about his role
The reviewed coverage does not describe Malkovich’s individual conduct at the protest. Infobae explicitly noted that authorities had not provided details of his conduct. Accounts of actions by demonstrators or police during the broader event therefore should not be attributed to him.
Rank #2
PerthNow relayed a Portland police statement through Reuters saying, “Fire bombs were thrown at officers, injuring at least one community member.” That statement concerned the wider protest context; it does not establish that Malkovich threw anything, injured anyone, or took part in any particular act.

The accounts are inconsistent about Malkovich’s age: PerthNow and AceShowbiz reported 38, while Infobae reported 28. Without reliable independent verification, neither figure should be treated as settled.
