¿Quién es Ketty Tinoco?
Tinoco es una diseñadora de Cartagena cuya trayectoria está ligada al lino y al trabajo artesanal. People en Español, en un perfil publicado el 8 de mayo de 2025, le atribuye más de cuatro décadas en la moda. El Universal, en un artículo del 12 de marzo de 2026, habla de más de 40 años dedicados a la moda y de una etapa de 20 años como modista; son cifras publicadas por esos medios.
Por qué la llaman “la dama del lino”
La historia que Tinoco relató a El Universal comienza cuando tenía cuatro años: encontró un baúl de su tía y sacó un mantel de lino para hacerle un vestido a una muñeca. Más adelante se formó como delineante de arquitectura y, tras trabajar distintos tejidos como modista, decidió concentrar su boutique en el lino. Esa elección de material, ligada a una anécdota de infancia, ayuda a explicar el apodo.
El sello romántico y artesanal de sus diseños
El Universal describe en sus prendas bordados, flores hechas a mano, calados y alforzas. La propia diseñadora resumió su identidad creativa en el periódico: “Mi sello es el romanticismo. Comencé a usar técnicas y detalles que muchos consideraban anticuados, pero les di un toque distinto: les puse mi magia y, por supuesto, el toque especial de las cosas bien hechas”.

En un desfile de 2023 para conmemorar 40 años, las costureras de Tinoco desfilaron junto a las modelos, según People en Español. El detalle pone en escena a algunas de las personas que participan en la confección, sin que por sí solo permita sacar conclusiones más amplias sobre las condiciones de trabajo.
¿Qué prendas diseña Ketty Tinoco?
La propuesta no se limita a vestidos. Las fuentes describen prendas femeninas, guayaberas y camisas para hombre, además de diseños infantiles. El Universal señala que la línea masculina de guayaberas y la ropa para niños llegaron después de los diseños para mujer.

Lino, clima y cuidado de las prendas
People en Español caracteriza el lino como un tejido apropiado para ciudades cálidas y tropicales y destaca su absorción, frescura y durabilidad. Esas son descripciones del reportaje, no una comparación técnica entre tejidos o marcas. Para elegir una prenda, puede ser más útil fijarse en su silueta, los detalles artesanales, la ocasión de uso y las indicaciones de cuidado de esa pieza.
El mismo reportaje cuenta que el taller recomendó rociar la prenda con agua y un poco de almidón o Maizena bien disuelta antes de planchar.
