What did Kim Kardashian say she paid for?
In a March 13, 2025 episode of The Kardashians, Kardashian discussed jewelry from her three marriages and said she had bought the ring associated with Humphries. Us Weekly quoted her saying: “I didn’t keep it. I was pregnant with North, still married to him and in order to divorce him, he said I had to give him the ring. The ring that I bought. He contributed a fifth [of the cost].” Us Weekly’s March 13, 2025 report attributes the statement to Kardashian on the show.
In other words, Kardashian said Humphries paid one fifth of the ring’s cost and characterized the ring as one she bought. The reports do not give a verified purchase price, so the amount she paid in dollars cannot be established from them.
What was the ring, and what happened to it?
Entertainment reports described the ring as an 18-carat emerald-cut diamond. Just Jared’s March 13, 2025 account also says Kardashian reported surrendering it in connection with the divorce. Kardashian’s quoted words say she “didn’t keep it” and that Humphries said she had to give it to him in order to divorce him.

That is her account of what happened; the reports do not independently establish that surrendering the ring was a legal condition of the divorce. They also do not establish a dependable present-day market value for the ring.
How the ring disclosure fits the marriage timeline
Kardashian and Humphries married in 2011. Us Weekly reports that they separated after 72 days and finalized their divorce in April 2013; Just Jared also places the marriage in 2011 and the divorce in 2013. The ring comments were made years later in the March 13, 2025 episode of The Kardashians.
