Mirio, Nejire, and Tamaki—the U.A. Big Three—step in. Mirio advances using Permeation, while Nejire and Tamaki turn their experience and encouragement into attacks. Their arrival shifts the immediate fight, but it does not erase the threat to Bakugo: he is badly hurt and still focused on winning.
Why does the fight go so badly?
The episode’s reversal is the core of its title’s promise. Bakugo commits a major attack, only to find that it cannot stop Shigaraki. Shigaraki then has the advantage, both physically and psychologically, before the Big Three intervene. The rescue changes the battlefield, but the episode keeps Bakugo’s injury and determination at its center.
