Apple TV+ renewed The Buccaneers for season 3 on October 8, 2025. Apple has shared a broad premise for the new season, but its announcement did not give a premiere date, episode count, or release schedule.
What Apple has confirmed about season 3
Apple’s October 8, 2025 announcement confirms that the drama will return on Apple TV+. It describes the Buccaneers as “fighting back” together and searching for the loves of their lives, while a new, enigmatic Duke brings uncertainty to Tintagel.
That is the official broad premise, not a detailed plot synopsis. The announcement does not establish a season-three episode count or say when production will begin or finish.
Has season 3 got a release date?
No premiere date or release schedule appears in the reviewed Apple announcement or show-page information. Season two’s schedule is not evidence of when season three will arrive, so a specific date or release window should not be treated as official unless Apple announces one.

Who is making the new season?
Apple says the series is produced for Apple TV+ by The Forge Entertainment, a Banijay UK company. Creator Katherine Jakeways continues as an executive producer, and Joe Innes joins as an executive producer for season three. Jakeways welcomed the renewal, saying: “We couldn’t be more delighted to be lacing up our corsets, slipping on our ball gowns and running breathless across the cliffs of Tintagel for the third time to see what passionate adventures our beloved Buccaneers get up to next.”
Where can you watch the earlier seasons?
When Apple announced the renewal on October 8, 2025, it said the complete first two seasons were streaming on Apple TV+. Catalog availability and subscription terms can change and may vary by region, so check Apple TV+ for current access.

For context, Apple’s show page lists season two as released June 18, 2025, with eight episodes. Apple’s March 18, 2025 announcement said those episodes would debut weekly through August 6, 2025; that schedule applies to season two, not the unannounced schedule for season three.

Apple describes The Buccaneers as inspired by Edith Wharton’s unfinished final novel of the same name. The book is optional further reading for viewers curious about the series’ inspiration; the renewal announcement does not say that season three will adapt a particular unfinished plot point.
