Yes—public evidence suggests Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox’s daughter, Coco Arquette, share a warm connection. The Independent has reported that Aniston is Coco’s godmother, and Aniston has publicly wished Coco a happy birthday. Those signs support describing them as close family friends, though they do not reveal how often they spend time together privately.
Why Aniston and Coco appear close
The clearest connection is that The Independent reported that Aniston is Coco’s godmother. That relationship is reported rather than directly confirmed by a first-person statement in the sources cited here, so it is best described with that attribution.
There is also a recent public sign of affection: The Daily Beast reported that Aniston commented “Happy birthdayyy Coco” on Cox’s June 2026 birthday post for her daughter.
Aniston’s friendship with Cox
Aniston’s longstanding closeness to Cox helps explain the family-friend connection. In a birthday tribute for Cox in June 2024, Aniston called her “one of my best friends for life” and wrote, “I can’t imagine a world without her,” as The Independent reported. That tribute speaks directly about Aniston’s bond with Cox, rather than establishing details about Aniston’s relationship with Coco.

They have also shared public family moments
At Cox’s 2023 Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, Coco and Aniston were both present, according to ABC News. Their presence at the same event is consistent with a close family-friend connection, but does not establish how often they meet outside public occasions.
Coco is Cox and David Arquette’s daughter. In a 2024 Vogue interview, Cox praised Coco as “so smart, so cool, and so creative,” while Coco described her mother as “my rock, my best friend.” Those comments illuminate the mother-daughter relationship; they should not be mistaken for statements about Aniston’s role.

What is known—and what is not
The reported godmother connection, Aniston’s birthday message to Coco, and Aniston’s close friendship with Cox make “close family friends” a fair description. The public accounts cited here do not establish how often Aniston and Coco see or speak to each other, or suggest that Aniston raised Coco or acts as a second mother.
