What the Season 3 teaser is about
AMC described the July 2024 footage as Lestat in his “rock-and-roll glory.” Its brief written account establishes the teaser’s central idea rather than a scene-by-scene plot: Lestat is becoming a public-facing rock star, with the story shifting toward his perspective.

That direction follows the season premise AMC announced when it renewed the series. Lestat objects to how Daniel Molloy portrayed him in the bestseller based on the vampires’ story, so he sets out to tell his own version—by starting a band and taking it on tour. The later official season title, The Vampire Lestat, makes that change in emphasis explicit.
Where the teaser fits in the season’s promotion
The Comic-Con footage was an early first look, not the same promotional piece as the later teasers and trailer. Keeping them distinct helps explain why material released over several years may be described online as a “Season 3 teaser.”

The Comic-Con panel featured showrunner and executive producer Rolin Jones, producer Mark Johnson, composer Daniel Hart, and cast members Sam Reid, Assad Zaman, and Delainey Hayles, according to AMC’s recap.
How the rock-star premise connects to the music
The music became part of the season’s promotion as well as its premise. AMC announced the first two official Lestat rock singles, “Long Face” and “All Fall Down,” as releases on major digital music services including Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music. Composer Daniel Hart wrote the original music and lyrics, and Sam Reid performs them. Availability can vary by service and territory.
The April 2026 official trailer also features Reid’s Lestat performing Billy Idol’s “Dancing With Myself.” That trailer detail is separate from the July 2024 teaser description; AMC’s recap of the earlier footage does not establish that the song appears in it.
When the season aired and where AMC said it was streaming
The Vampire Lestat premiered Sunday, June 7, 2026, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on AMC and AMC+. After the Season 3 finale aired, AMC announced Season 4, titled Anne Rice’s Queen of the Damned, and said the completed third season was streaming exclusively on AMC+. What AMC’s announcements establish—and what they do not
The official material supports the broad arc: Lestat is at the center, disputes Molloy’s portrayal, and uses a band and tour to put forward his version. AMC’s April trailer announcement adds the multi-city tour and past muses. The July 2024 written recap does not provide a runtime, an official viewership figure, or a complete account of the footage, so those details should not be inferred from it.
AMC’s June 2024 renewal announcement reported Rotten Tomatoes scores of 98 points for each of the first two seasons at that time. Those were figures AMC cited in 2024, not current ratings. The same announcement quoted then-president of entertainment and AMC Studios Dan McDermott saying the 18 Anne Rice novels covered by AMC’s rights had sold more than 150 million copies; that attributed franchise figure is context, not a measure of the teaser’s reach.
