Two days of national mourning
The state funeral was distinct from the national mourning measures. The government declared mourning throughout India on 6 and 7 February 2022. During those two days, the national flag was to fly at half-mast across the country, and there was to be no official entertainment. The measures were announced by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
