That is the appeal behind the idea of Ms. Marvel saving the universe alongside her heroes—not a claim about a particular rescue scene.
What the official trailer sets up
Marvel published its official trailer article on July 19, 2023, ahead of the film’s November 10, 2023 theatrical opening. The article introduces three leads: Carol Danvers, also known as Captain Marvel; Kamala Khan, the Jersey City Ms. Marvel super-fan; and Monica Rambeau, Carol’s estranged niece and a S.A.B.E.R. astronaut. Brie Larson, Iman Vellani and Teyonah Parris play Carol, Kamala and Monica, respectively. Marvel’s official trailer article gives the film’s premise and credits.

In Marvel’s synopsis, Carol is sent to investigate an anomalous wormhole connected to a Kree revolutionary. The event entangles her powers with Kamala’s and Monica’s, forcing the three to coordinate. Marvel sums up the destination of that story this way: “Together, this unlikely trio must team-up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as ‘The Marvels.’”
Why their powers make the team-up unusual
The premise is more than three heroes sharing a mission. The Associated Press reports that the women swap places whenever they use their powers, causing their separate worlds to collide in comic and surreal ways. That power mechanic helps explain why the trio must learn to work in concert: using an ability can affect where another member of the team ends up. The Associated Press’s preview attributes the film’s strange, sci-fi approach to director Nia DaCosta, who said she wanted to honor the project’s premise and make something “very frankly strange.”

Who made The Marvels?
Nia DaCosta directed the film. Marvel credits Kevin Feige as producer and Megan McDonnell, Nia DaCosta, Elissa Karasik and Zeb Wells for the screenplay. The Associated Press describes the movie as a loosely connected sequel to Captain Marvel and notes that it brings together Carol with Monica, familiar from WandaVision, and Kamala, introduced in her own series.
