The property’s scale and his remarks are documented; the “apocalypse-proof” label is not a verified description of its capabilities.
What is known about the Utah property?
A Utah Real Estate MLS listing describes a Cottonwood Heights single-family home measuring 12,702 square feet, with five bedrooms, seven bathrooms and 6.75 acres. It records a sale date of February 20, 2018, but does not name the buyer or disclose the sale price. The listing therefore establishes the property’s listed dimensions and sale date, not by itself that Malone bought it.
News reports connect the home to Malone. TMZ reported in September 2019 that he bought it in early 2018, describing the price as about $3 million. A July 2024 Cat Country Utah story, citing property records, put the purchase at just under $3.1 million and described the estate as roughly 13,000 square feet on seven acres. These reports differ in precision, and neither changes what the MLS listing itself discloses.
How much did Post Malone’s house cost?
The most defensible shorthand is that the reported purchase was around $3 million. The figures in coverage are not consistent, and one report does not explain its valuation basis:

Because the listing withholds the sale price and the coverage does not reconcile its figures, the exact amount is not established by the listing record.
What did Malone say about the bunker?
In a 2018 Rolling Stone profile, as relayed by Hypebeast, Malone said: “I’m gonna put in, like, 30 bunk beds.” That is evidence of a stated plan, not confirmation that the beds were installed. Hypebeast’s account also quoted him describing an underground build on the H3 Podcast: “I’m building it underground. It’s going to be fun until the world ends. But whenever the world ends, it’s going to be functional.”

Taste of Country quoted him saying it was “gonna be fun until the world ends, but when the world ends, it’s gonna be functional,” and noted that he had not disclosed specific end-of-world amenities. Taste of Country’s report likewise records an expressed intention, not a technical description.
Is the bunker confirmed to exist?
No. Spin wrote in September 2019 that it was unclear whether the bunker had been built. Architectural Digest later recapped the interviews and property but did not document a completed shelter or verify its capabilities. Neither account supplies an inspection, construction plans or confirmed bunker specifications. Spin’s report and Architectural Digest’s account leave completion unresolved.

Local coverage has also described bulletproof glass and a security system, but those details are secondary reporting rather than specifications established by the MLS listing. They should not be taken as proof of a bunker’s design or protection.

For this property, it is a headline-style description, not a demonstrated engineering rating. The public accounts reviewed do not establish the reported shelter’s completion, layout, occupant capacity, intended hazard, construction materials, independent inspection or performance. Malone’s comments describe what he said he wanted to build; they do not show that a finished structure was evaluated against a defined threat.

That distinction matters: a celebrity’s stated shelter plans and a technically assessed protective structure are different kinds of evidence. The available record supports the story of a large Utah home and an underground bunker plan, not a verified claim that the property is apocalypse-proof.
