Jennifer Garner joined the business in 2017 and is described by the company as a co-founder and board member—but she was not one of its original founders. The company reported $240.7 million in 2025 net sales and completed an IPO in February 2026, according to its SEC filing.
Who founded Once Upon a Farm, and how did Jennifer Garner join?
Cassandra Curtis and Ari Raz started Once Upon a Farm in 2015. Curtis developed recipes for her daughter after she felt the supermarket options available to her did not meet her standards, according to the company’s account of its beginnings. The business started with baby food and later expanded its focus to childhood nutrition.
In 2017, food-industry executive John Foraker and Jennifer Garner joined the company. Once Upon a Farm identifies Garner as a co-founder and board member. Foraker brought consumer packaged-goods experience: the company’s 2025 Form 10-K identifies him as a longtime Annie’s leader and former president of General Mills’ Annie’s operating unit. The company’s account of its development credits Curtis and Raz with starting the business before Garner and Foraker joined it. Once Upon a Farm’s 2025 Form 10-K and its Our Story page describe the company’s history and leadership.
What does Once Upon a Farm sell?
The company’s core categories are pouches and snacks for babies and children. Its investor-relations overview describes cold-pressed fruit-and-vegetable blends, freshly frozen plant-rich meals, refrigerated oat bars and pantry-ready snacks. Those formats differ in age or use, product type and storage needs; the company’s overview does not make them interchangeable. The company’s investor-relations overview and its annual filing describe the product portfolio.

What is new in the children’s product line?
On October 5, 2026, Once Upon a Farm announced organic Electrolyte Blends pouches aimed at older, active children. The company described single-serve 4-ounce pouches and four-packs in Strawberry Kiwi, Apple Berry Punch and Guava Strawberry. Its release says the blends use fruit and vegetables, coconut water and sea salt. The October 5, 2026 product announcement explicitly states: “Product not designed for medical rehydration or sustained energy.” These are snacks, not treatments for dehydration or substitutes for medical rehydration products.

How large is the business?

Once Upon a Farm’s story connects a parent’s dissatisfaction with available baby-food options to a business that now sells food for a wider range of children. Garner’s public profile is part of that story, but the company’s origin also includes Curtis’s product development, Raz’s role as an original founder and Foraker’s food-industry background. The company presents organic ingredients and convenience as its mission and positioning; those statements should not be confused with independent evidence of nutritional superiority or health effects.
