The event was held at Madrid’s Santiago Bernabéu Stadium and turned creator-led amateur boxing into a major live spectacle. The available sources do not independently establish Will Smith’s role or provide a basis for calling July a slow month for Twitch, so those parts of the original headline should not be treated as verified facts.
What is La Velada del Año?
La Velada del Año is an amateur boxing event built around online creators. Streamers, content creators and celebrities take part, while the bouts are presented as a large live entertainment spectacle. Ibai Llanos hosts the event, which is also broadcast on Twitch.
What happened at the 2024 event?
The fourth edition took place on 13 July 2024 at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid. Guinness World Records lists 3,846,256 as the concurrent peak views for its Twitch broadcast. That is a peak-audience figure: it describes the largest number watching at the same time, not the number of unique people who watched over the whole event.
What does the Will Smith headline claim establish?
The headline links Will Smith to the event and describes July as slow for Twitch. However, the accessible supporting material does not verify Smith’s specific appearance or explain which Twitch metric or period underpins the “slow July” comparison. Without that confirmation, neither point should be presented as independently established. The documented facts are the event’s date, venue, format and Guinness-recorded peak.

- EFFECTIVE IMPACT DISPERSION – Are your training gloves affecting your accuracy? The RDX gloves dissipate the force of impact across the specially made, pre-curved anatomical structure of the sparring gloves due to the presence of Quadro Dome 3 padding, which uses EVA foam and SpongeX sheet. This results in a comfortable training experience for the users of the RDX heavy boxing gloves.
- PATENT PENDING LOMA TECH DESIGN – Do you face trouble forming the perfect fist, while using boxing gloves ? RDX gloves feature a PATENT PENDING single seamless LOMA Tech design used in the palm area and thumb of the boxing gloves. This helps create an improved alignment between the fist and thumb and along with an especially designed attached thumb allows the trainees to form the perfect fist and punch better with the training gloves.
- EXCEPTIONALLY DURABLE MATERIAL – No matter how hard you punch these gloves make sure to outlast your intense training. The use of advanced caliber Maya Hide ConvEX Skin Leather in the KARA Series training gloves makes them durable and reliable for long-term use while also providing a superior look and feel during Boxing, Muay Thai, MMA, Kickboxing, and heavy bag training sessions among other similar sports.
- FULL WRAPAROUND WRIST SUPPORT – A hassle-free design with sufficient support for your wrists. The hook and loop Fastener straps provide a secure fit and make it easy to put on or take off the kickboxing gloves for men and women along with providing better wrist support due to the full wraparound wrist strap, while the dual stitching in the heavy bag gloves makes them durable and resilient for extensive training sessions.
- SWEAT-FREE EXPERIENCE – Bid farewell to those sweaty palms and hands. With multiple ventilation holes strategically placed in the thumb sections of the lightweight boxing gloves, RDX ensures proper airflow management so that its customers get a sweat-free experience. Furthermore, the advanced perforated sheet for breathable ventilation in the palm area is sweat-wicking and minimizes sweat accumulation.
How does the 2025 edition compare?
La Velada del Año V was a separate event, held in Seville on 26 July 2025. Its figures should not be attributed to the 2024 edition. The available reports describe several different measures:
| Measure | La Velada del Año 4 (2024) | La Velada del Año V (2025) |
|---|---|---|
| Date and venue | 13 July 2024, Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid (Guinness World Records) | 26 July 2025, Seville (Europa Press) |
| Concurrent Twitch peak | 3,846,256, recorded by Guinness World Records | About nine million Twitch viewers reported by Europa Press, with detailed device metrics attributed to event organizers; Streams Charts later reported a revised peak of 14,078,025 for Twitch during the event, updated after Ibai’s clarification in July 2026 |
| Other reported audience measures | Not stated in the cited Guinness record | About 80,000 in-person spectators (Europa Press); 46.3 million hours watched in the event’s Twitch category (Streams Charts) |
These figures are not interchangeable. In-person attendance, hours watched and concurrent peaks describe different things; the 2025 reports also use different audience figures and distinguish event-category performance from Twitch’s platform-wide peak. The later Streams Charts figure is explicitly an updated number, not a measurement of the 2024 broadcast.

What the record says about Twitch’s July
The 2024 event provides a clear example of a creator-led live broadcast reaching an unusually large simultaneous audience. A single peak, however, cannot show whether Twitch overall had a slow or strong month. That judgment requires a defined comparison—such as monthly platform-wide peak viewers, average viewership or total hours watched—and comparable data for other months. The available sources do not establish that comparison for July 2024.
