Why do reports also mention a $5 million estate?
A September 2025 report by realestate.com.au summarized a probate filing by Hogan’s son, Nick. It described the filing as listing a fortune worth about $5 million and identified several reported categories:
- About $200,000 in cryptocurrency
- About $799,000 in personal and intellectual property
- About $4 million in publicity rights
The report also said the filing mentioned a potential medical-malpractice lawsuit and did not mention Hogan’s real estate portfolio. A probate filing concerns assets handled through the probate process; the available reporting does not establish that the reported amount includes every asset, trust, debt, or property interest. The figures should therefore be described as a reported probate-related estate amount, not as a replacement for a comprehensive net-worth calculation. realestate.com.au’s report on the filing said Nick sought appointment as co-personal representative and was listed as sole beneficiary; it also reported that Brooke Hogan had been removed in a 2023 will amendment. Those reported filing details do not establish the full terms of any trust or the eventual distribution.

How do the Clearwater property figures fit in?
Us Weekly reported, citing official records it obtained, that Hogan owned two Clearwater Beach homes through an LLC and estimated their combined value at more than $11 million. That is a reported estimate of property value, not net worth: it does not by itself show mortgages, other liabilities, beneficial ownership, or whether the properties were part of the probate estate. The probate coverage said the filing did not mention the real estate portfolio, so the available figures cannot be reconciled into one confirmed total. Net worth generally means assets minus liabilities. To compare the estimate, probate figure, and property estimate, a reader would need to know which assets were included, how title and trusts affected ownership, what debts applied, and whether values overlap. The cited coverage does not settle those questions, so combining the amounts would create a total the reporting does not support.

How Hogan’s career and Gawker case relate to the estimate
Hogan’s long wrestling career, television appearances, and business activity formed the public backdrop to wealth estimates. Biography.com notes that he launched Real American Beer in 2024 and says the Celebrity Net Worth estimate accounts for the Gawker settlement. The legal figures require care: Biography.com reports a 2016 jury award of $140 million and a later settlement of $31 million. The award and settlement are distinct, and the award should not be described as the amount Hogan ultimately received.

Hogan died on July 24, 2025, aged 71. In June 2026, the Associated Press reported that Clearwater police had closed their investigation. AP quoted the Clearwater Police Department report as stating: “There has been no evidence to indicate the death of Terry Bollea was anything other than natural.” The Associated Press report described the department’s conclusion.
