BGR’s report said it could not confirm the story, so its account of Captain Marvel, Tony Stark and a case supposedly holding the Power Stone should be treated as pre-release rumor—not as a scene confirmed to appear in the finished film.
What the alleged Xandar leak claimed
In a February 2, 2019 report, BGR’s Chris Smith described a possible battle on Xandar, the planet where the Power Stone had been left after the events of “Guardians of the Galaxy.” The report presented the scene as leak material, not as an established part of “Endgame.”

In the account relayed by BGR, Captain America and Iron Man were fighting Thanos and his forces when Captain Marvel arrived and struck Thanos. She was said to give Tony a case containing the Power Stone; Tony then passed it to War Machine for use in a large device. The sequence and its purported dialogue were allegations in the report, not authenticated screenplay or film dialogue.
Why the report’s caveat matters
BGR said it had no way to verify the leak. Its description came through an indirect chain involving a Portuguese-language social account, a website that is now down, Omnitos and the YouTube channel The Cosmic Wonder. That chain does not amount to independent confirmation, and the original leaker’s identity and the authenticity of the reported toy image were not established.

How Endgame’s official story handled the Snap
Marvel’s official “Avengers: Endgame” overview describes the remaining Avengers taking a final stand after Thanos wiped out half the universe. The film, released April 26, 2019, was directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.
Marvel’s War Machine on-screen history describes the team’s effort to recover the Infinity Stones and reverse the Snap. The plan involved using the Quantum Tunnel to retrieve the Stones across time. That is the official story account; it does not confirm the leaked Xandar battle as the means of undoing the deaths.

“Avengers: Infinity War” was released on April 27, 2018. Marvel’s official overview says Thanos sought all six Infinity Stones to impose his will on reality. “Endgame” followed on April 26, 2019, taking up the aftermath and the surviving Avengers’ response.
The 2019 headline’s claim that the reported battle “will help undo” the deaths was speculation published before “Endgame” premiered. The later official synopsis and character history explain the broad goal and time-travel approach, but the Xandar set piece remains an unverified leak rather than evidence of the finished plot.
