Open the Google app, tap the microphone in the search bar, and choose Search a song. Hum, whistle, or sing the melody—or play a recording—and Google will show possible matches. Tap a candidate to check its Search results, which may include ways to listen, read lyrics, or watch a music video.

Google also lists its Search widget as another way to access Song Search on iPhone. The results page may offer listening, lyrics, and music-video options. See Google’s iPhone and iPad instructions.
What Google’s matches mean
When you hum, whistle, or sing, Google returns potential matches, not a guaranteed identification. Check the suggested candidates and open the one that seems right. Google publishes no numerical accuracy rate for this feature in its help pages.

Google Search Help describes the feature this way: “Hum, whistle, or sing: With Google, you can identify potential matches for the song.” If you play a recording instead, Google says it can identify a song that is playing. Either way, use the results to verify the track rather than assuming the first suggestion is correct.

Google documents Now Playing for Pixel 2 and later in its Android song-search help. It is useful when you want the phone to detect nearby music automatically; it is not another name for Hum to Search.
