All seven seasons of Homicide: Life on the Street are available on Peacock, where the series arrived on August 19, 2024, alongside its follow-up film, Homicide: The Movie. Peacock’s May 2026 editorial page still lists the seven-season series, though catalog availability can change.
What’s available on Peacock?
The Peacock release brings together the NBC drama’s full seven-season run and Homicide: The Movie, the 2000 follow-up. TVLine describes the original series as a 1993–1999 run of 122 episodes. Peacock’s May 12, 2026 article lists all seven seasons on the service.
The series was created by Paul Attanasio and based on David Simon’s nonfiction book, Homicide: A Year on the Killing Streets. Universal Pictures describes the show as a three-time Peabody Award winner and four-time Emmy Award winner.
How does the Peacock version differ?
The streaming episodes were remastered for HD; launch-period reporting said a 4K version would follow the initial HD release. The remaster and rights clearances took “many years,” NBCUniversal said in a statement reported by Georgia Public Broadcasting.

Most, but not necessarily all, of the original music
The episodes retain most of their original music, but the available reporting does not establish that every track was cleared. Executive producer Tom Fontana told TV Insider, “Part of it was renegotiating the music rights: Most of the music remains.”
The Law & Order crossovers are excluded
The Law & Order crossover episodes are not included on Peacock. Viewers seeking the complete crossover experience should account for that omission rather than assume the streaming collection contains every related episode.

Where to find more about the story behind the series
David Simon’s Homicide: A Year on the Killing Streets is the nonfiction book on which the drama is based. It offers a direct route to the real Baltimore homicide unit that informed the series; reading it is not required to follow the show.
Universal Pictures also lists a digital complete-series edition. Its product page gives a 100-hour runtime for that edition; that figure is product metadata and should not be taken as the runtime of the Peacock stream. The available information does not establish a detailed episode-by-episode comparison with DVD editions or current physical-disc availability.
