“Project 2025 is Donald Trump’s playbook for controlling and punishing women, poor people, people of color, and the LGBTQ+ community,” Williams said.
“It is time for all Americans to band together and finally defeat the Trump agenda. And the only way to do that is by confronting him at the polls. Do you want to live in the dictatorship? Well, show up and vote.”

These are Williams’s words as reproduced in Rolling Stone’s September 23, 2024, report. Her description of Project 2025 is her characterization of the initiative. Rolling Stone Australia’s report supplies the complete quoted wording; iHeartRadio’s coverage also describes the speech as a political statement condemning Trump and encouraging people to vote.
When and where the speech happened
Paramore performed on Friday, September 20, at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Festival, held September 20–21 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The Associated Press’s June 4, 2024, preview described the festival’s planned distribution that year: audiences could listen on iHeartMedia radio stations or watch on Hulu. Those were options for the 2024 event, not a statement about current availability.

The song during the remarks
Williams spoke during “Big Man, Little Dignity,” a song from Paramore’s album This Is Why. The performance provided the setting for her comments; the reports do not say that the song’s lyrics contained her political statement.
