What is Hell House LLC Origins: The Carmichael Manor about?
In the film’s setup, internet sleuth Margot gets permission to spend five days at the Carmichael Manor. She brings her girlfriend Rebecca and brother Chase to investigate an unsolved 1989 case: the mother and daughter were killed, while the father and son disappeared. The manor’s horrors connect the investigation to the larger Hell House LLC mythology and its unsettling clowns. Shudder’s official title page identifies the movie as a 2023 English-language film directed by Stephen Cognetti, with a 98-minute runtime and a TV-MA rating.

How does the origin story fit the series?
The Carmichael Manor is the fourth Hell House LLC film. The series began at the abandoned Abaddon Hotel, where a Halloween attraction becomes the setting for the first film’s found-footage events. Later entries build on that mythology; this installment moves the action to a different location and gives the franchise’s clown imagery an origin-story angle. Cheryl Eddy’s October 24, 2023 Gizmodo feature describes the film’s documentary framing, which mixes talking-head interviews with footage shot by the characters.
Do you need to watch the other Hell House LLC movies first?
No. Eddy’s feature says viewers can follow The Carmichael Manor without seeing every earlier film. Watching the original first can make callbacks and Easter eggs more rewarding, especially for viewers interested in how the manor’s events connect to the Abaddon Hotel story.
